Dream Big
Last night was a shock for me when I watched the AI Finale, as I was more than half sure that America will vote for Archuleta. But it’s great that Cook won.
Dream Big – the song immediately stuck to my head. It’s such a nice song and the lyrics really tell a lot. I actually seem to like this better than the winning song, ’cause it sounds great. This song was composed by Emily Shackelton. Follow the link to her MySpace page where you can also hear her original version and a few other songs, which equally sound good.
The lyrics of the song is very inspiring. For the full lyrics, visit her site.
…
I see it everyday – we settle for safe
and lose ourselves along the wayBut if you don’t dream big
What’s the use in dreaming
If you don’t have faith
There’s nothing worth believing
It takes wild hope to make the stars worth reaching for
So reach out for something moreIt took a well-perfected plan
For me to finally understand
That it’s not me
Faith is something I can’t see
I loosed the reigns then let them go
I broke the chains of fear that had
Their hold on me too long
When all I felt was wrongI’ve wiped my tears away – now it’s time for a change
No I can’t waste another day…
Than you ever could imagine
Then move, don’t wait for it to happen
Life’s too short for not taking chances
The stars aren’t as far as they seem…
We usually live life too safely, afraid to try and afraid to take a risk or an opportunity, because we are afraid of the unknown. We daydream and think about the might have beens, or the future that might be there for us, but there it ends as a hope and nothing more, because we are too fixated on the past, the failures, or the incapacities of the present. But it’s there – dreams do come true. If we do not have faith and believe that it will come for us, then there’s no point. There’s nothing worth believing. Indeed life is too short for us not to take chances on what we would like ourselves to be. Dreams do come true. That is why we need to dream on and keep the faith.
