Of Thesis and Exam
Last Tuesday, I took my last exam for the MCSD track. And yay! I am already certified for MCSD. I know it will be removed soon (on March 2009), since a new track for the MCPD is available, but nonetheless, it’s something.
I am actually worried about the thesis I am doing right now, not because I don’t have any references nor any people to correspond with, but rather I find it difficult to understand and that I couldn’t find a way to compile the code I was provided by the author. This is actually something new, and I believe that by pursuing this topic I would be able to contribute something, despite how small it might be. I am a newbie in the field of systems biology and it really takes a lot of effort for us to understand the concepts behind the theories and the algorithms, but I can say that I am lucky to have colleagues and mentors who are in this field of study to help and guide me through the research. At least last night, I was able to compile the code. (Finally! *sigh*) We tend to think of complicated ways to solve things. Sometimes, the answers are just simple. I’m glad I realized it.
