Editing images can sometimes be a very daunting task, especially if there are minute details to be taken cared of. We often use the rubber stamp or paint brush our way towards a more coherent and seamless integration of different elements. With the content-aware fill in the coming Adobe CS5, hopefully it will be a whole lot easier.

It’s coming out on April 12, 2010, a few more days from now. Can’t wait to get my hands on CS5!

The video below shows some examples on how the amazing content-aware fill works:

Here’s another one:

It’s a pretty great addition to the features. Designing should be a little bit easier with this tool. The algorithm is great. I just hope it doesn’t add too much more space.

uTorrent

Most reasons why there are problems browsing the Internet while using torrent downloaders such as uTorrent occur, because of extremely high settings. Here are some general tips that you can follow:

Run the Setup Guide. It will almost instantly setup your uTorrent preferences to a conservative one, thereby allowing you to perform normal Internet operations even while downloading.

uTorrent Setup Guide

Windows Firewall exception. Add uTorrent to the Windows Firewall exclusion list by going to:

Options > Preferences > Connections > Add Windows Firewall exclusion

Setup port forwarding. Although for newer routers you don’t have to set this up, because uPnP and NAT-PMP are built in. You can just enable the two settings under Preferences> Connections. However, you might need to manually setup port forwarding on your router. For details how to do so, visit the PortForward website.

Update uTorrent. It’s best to keep your uTorrent client updated. It helps ensure that proper fixes to bugs are remediated, and it also addresses connection and security concerns.

Keep settings conservative. One of the common issues we face is high uploads. This is usually the problem, as we are often limited by our ISPs. The upload speed is usually lower than our download speed limits, especially for aDSL lines. Generally, when you have run the Setup Guide, your settings should be setup accordingly. However, there are times when we feel the need to tweak around the values to find the optimal for our current use. I myself is guilty about this.

Using settings that are too high may not only slow down your computer, but may also impact the connection of other people in your area as well. To learn more about how to setup your settings conservatively, refer to the Conservative Settings Chart.

Some advanced users tweak Max Half Open settings. The default setting is 100. Some recommend that this be set below 100. You may try this at your risk, but remember not to use a number greater than 100 as it may cause connectivity issues with your OS.

uTorrent - Max Half Open

If you are still encountering problems with your speeds and your connection in general, visit the connection setup guide and the common procedures to be followed when experiencing slow connections.

I’m sure there are a lot waiting to get their hands on this one. I wonder what’s better, the Slate or iPad?
